A fairly common condition

Dupuytren’s disease is a fairly common condition. On average it affects roughly between 3% and 13% of the European population.13,14,15,16 It is found more frequently in people of caucasians northern European descent.13

Dupuytren’s disease most commonly affects men; in a recent study, 81% of 3,357 people with Dupuytren’s contracture were men.17 In addition, men typically present with the disease earlier (around 55 years old) than women (around 65 years old) and have more severe symptoms.13
